Álvaro de la Cruz

Álvaro de la Cruz is a political scientist by training who has worked in political and institutional communication and marketing for the past ten years. Member of Partido Popular since he turned 18, he worked at the party’s national headquarters for two years as a member of its digital communication team. Later on, he worked for president Mariano Rajoy’s office from 2012 to 2017. Also, after two years as Communications Lead at the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Digital), he led the external agency’s team working on the EPP’s 2019 Spitzenkandidat. After joining the Martens Centre in March 2020, he left in October 2022.

Álvaro holds a BA in Political Science by Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Certificate on European Political Studies by Sciences Po Strasbourg, and a Master on Digital Marketing by EAE Business School.

Passionate about rugby and other team sports, he speaks Spanish, English, and French. When he finds the courage you might hear him speaking some proto-Italian.
