This booklet summarizes the proceedings of the fourth edition of the «Security and Defence Days», the annual conference organized in Rome by the De Gasperi Foundation on European and Transatlantic security. Published in partnership with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the volume features a selection of the remarks delivered by the distinguished speakers who joined the event, including decision-makers, senior officials, experts and media professionals. The proceedings primarily addressed the following topics: Russia’s war in Ukraine and insecurity in the Mediterranean: NATO between two fronts; the Euro-Atlantic agenda after the Washington summit and the U.S. presidential elections; the need for a European defence, from De Gasperi to today; China, the Indo-Pacific region and the role of NATO partners. The conference took place on November 6-7, 2024.
