Gavin Synnott

Senior Project Officer

Gavin Synnott joined the Martens Centre in February 2018. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Development from the University of Guelph in Canada and graduated cum laude from the master’s programme in International Relations from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He is an alumnus of the Martens Centre’s internship programme (2016-2017).

Prior to joining the Project Team (now External Co-operation team), Gavin worked in the Press Department of the European People’s Party. He also worked at the European Foundation for Democracy, a Brussels-based think tank specialising in counter-radicalisation and violent extremism, and at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies. His focal areas include transatlantic relations, global governance and international security.
