Ingrid Habets
Ingrid Habets holds a masters degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen (the Netherlands) and was awarded an Erasmus scholarship to study Latin-America studies in Salamanca (Spain). During her studies she interned at the Royal Dutch Embassy in Buenos Aires where she conducted research on poverty in Argentina. She was involved in human rights projects and assisted the Secretary of Press and Culture.
In 2004 Ingrid Habets worked at the Consulate of Colombia in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), running the office and liaising with Dutch governmental institutions. From 2006 to 2012 she worked as assistant and then as representative at the Brussels office of the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) and contributed to building a broad network within the Brussels institutions.
Ingrid also organised numerous study missions to Brussels for parliamentarians, political party representatives and youth from all around the world, as well as public events for high level politicians. Since May 2012 she is a research officer at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, where she coordinates research on foreign policy, political party structures and EU institutions. Furthermore, she is assistant editor-in-chief of the European View, the Centre’s biannual policy journal. Ingrid speaks Dutch, English, Spanish, French and German.Ingrid Habets is a member of the Alumni
