Lawrence Cappelle

Lawrence Cappelle is currently parliamentary assistant in the European Parliament, in the office of Ivo Belet, and executive secretary of EU Christian Democratic Workers (EUCDW), the workers’ organisation of the European People’s Party (EPP). Over the last year, he also worked on a research project for the European Seniors’ Union (ESU) of the EPP on the participation and representation of seniors in the 2014 European elections, a topic closely related to his Masters’ Degrees in Policy Economics and International Politics, completed at the University of Leuven in 2014 and 2012, respectively. Between September 2012 and October 2013, he was also Research Assistant at the Centre for Research on Peace and Development (CRPD), under the supervision of Professor Arnim Langer. His research interests focus on the nexus between political decision-making – both in Europe and in post-conflict countries – and socio-economic developments.
