Jochen Pimpertz

Dr rer. pol. Jochen Pimpertz is senior economist at the Cologne Institute for Economic Research. Since 2011 he has been Head of the Research Unit for Fiscal Policy and Social Security Systems. He was a research assistant at the Chair of Economic Policy under Professor Dr Johann Eekhoff from 1995 to 2001 and has held several positions at the Cologne Institute for Economic Research since then. His current research focuses on reforming the German health care system and public pension scheme, as well as European social policy. He is a lecturer on health care economics at the University of Cologne.
