Irene Paolinelli
Irene Paolinelli joined the Martens Centre as a Communications Intern in July 2021. She grew up in Lucca, Italy. She studied Tourism Sciences at the University of Pisa, with a semester abroad in Valladolid, Spain at UEMC Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes. Irene later continued her studies, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Marketing at ISEG Lisbon School of Economics & Management, University of Lisbon.
She previously worked in the leading Portuguese start-up incubator in Lisbon, operating in the Tourism, Tech and Commerce sectors, and has experience in start-ups involved in sustainable development. In 2021, she undertook a traineeship at the Campaigns Directorate of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, where she had the chance to focus on the creation of social media campaigns aimed at involving the European public, and she acquired a deeper knowledge of the European challenges.
Passionate about Sustainable Tourism, Communications, and European Affairs, Irene speaks fluent Italian, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French, and she has a basic knowledge of German. During her free time, she likes playing volleyball, taking pictures, and writing about sustainable tourism topics.
