Visiting Fellow (m/f)- Demographic Changes in Europe and/or Social Policy

This is a six-months, non-renewable, Brussels-based, full-time position for candidates with academic credentials, expertise and interest in the field of Demographic changes in Europe and/or Social policy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop at least one major research project addressing issues in the broad field of one of the topics: Demographic changes in Europe and/or Social policy

• Assist in strengthening the Centre’s network of experts (scholars, analysts, policymakers) and contributing to its outreach towards the academic and policy community

• Assist in the planning of future research projects in the field of Demographic changes in Europe and/or Social policy

• Active involvement in the communication of the research projects’ results

• Conceptualisation of high-impact events, workshops and initiatives in the field ofDemographic changes in Europe and/or Social policy

• Assisting in the management and organisation of the joint activities together with the Member Foundation

Candidate requirements

• University degree in political science, social sciences, law, economics or related disciplines; a PhD Degree is recommended

• Proved interest and expertise in the field of Demographic changes in Europe and/or Social policy

• Fluent in English, with proven writing skills; knowledge of additional languages is welcome

• Excellent analytical as well as organisational skills

• Good knowledge of European and international politics and familiarity with the history and the tradition of the Christian Democrat, Conservative and like-minded political parties of the EPP family

• Committed and flexible team player, able to work in a multi-national environment

• Preference will be given to the applicants familiar with the Martens Centre Research activities, jointly organised with its member foundations
