Protection of children on the Internet

Digital technology represents an increasingly important role in children’s lives. Children express their social connections, educate and play online. However online world has not been built for children.

This event will discuss how we can strengthen child safety in EU digital legislation, how to redesign a digital ecosystem that respects children’s rights and fosters their wellbeing online. Focus will on EU strategy on the Rights of the Child. European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children, BIK and others. It will also address the need of development of children’s 21st century skills, including critical thinking and media literacy to help them thrive in the digital world.
