Annual seminar III “Can democracy respond to new challenges”

The final part of the Annual Seminar took place 18-20 September in Šabac, Serbia under the umbrella topic “Can democracy respond to new challenges”. The project is a common initiative with the Hanns Seidel Stiftung in Belgrade in a cooperation with the Balkan Fund for Political Excellence.

Over the course of three days, participants had the opportunity to engage in lectures, panel discussions, and workshops addressing key issues on the role of Europe between democracy and security, the Roma community’s participation in democratic processes, as well as voters mobilisation in a new political environment. Furthermore, women’s participation in politics and decision-making was discussed and the role of AI in democratic processes. 

The seminar gathered relevant experts, decision-makers, and representatives of international organisations, while also providing space for active participation and exchange among the attendees themselves.
