Wouter Beke

Wouter Beke is a Belgian politician for CD&V and a member of the European Parliament for the European People’s Party (EPP), having been elected in the 2024 European elections. In Parliament, he serves as Chair of the Delegation for relations with Southeast Asia and ASEAN (DASE) and is active on several committees, including Foreign Affairs (AFET), Security and Defence (SEDE), Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), and Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI).

Before joining the European Parliament, Wouter Beke held several senior positions in Belgian politics. He was party leader of CD&V from 2010 to 2019, served as Flemish Minister for Welfare, Public Health, Family and Poverty Reduction (2019–2022), and as Federal Minister for Work, Economy and Consumer Affairs in 2019. He also served as mayor of Leopoldsburg (2013–2024) and sat in both the Belgian Senate and the Federal Chamber of Representatives.
