Werner Fasslabend

Werner Fasslabend is a member of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies Academic Council. He previously Chaired the Academic Council from 2007 to 2023. Between 1987 and 2007, he was a member of the Austrian National Council, serving as the Third President of the National Council (2000-2002) and as Federal Minister of Defence for ten years (1990-2000). Since 2004, he has been President of the Political Academy of the Austrian People’s Party (PolAk) as well as of the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy (AIES).
