Oisín Kennedy-Baleztena

Oisín Kennedy-Baleztena is a Team Member at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies. He holds an MSc in Political Theory Research from the University of Oxford and a degree in Philosophy from the University of Edinburgh, having also spent a year at UC Berkeley on a scholarship. His academic work has focused primarily on conservative and reactionary political thought, and during his studies he founded and served as President of both the Europeanist Society (EUSOC) and the Oxford Conservative Thought Reading Group.

Before joining the Martens Centre, and between his studies, Oisín worked in the European Parliament for MEP Antonio López-Istúriz White and as a political consultant for Spanish think tanks and political institutions, advising on defence and youth strategy. He has also served as a research assistant at Oxford, Berkeley and Edinburgh, supporting leading scholars in political theory and intellectual history.

Oisín is passionate about strengthening Europe’s strategic and cultural resilience. His main areas of interest include migration and demographics, defence, political psychology, Western axiology and populist rhetoric. He speaks English, Spanish, and Basque fluently, and is learning French.
