Marta Kartawik
Visiting Fellow
Marta studied Law with Business at the University of Sussex, followed by an advanced research Master’s in law at the University of Oxford. Both degrees as well as her DPhil reflected her longstanding interest in EU competition law application in the sports sectorm, as well as the interplay between EU law and arbitration regimes.
Throughout her career, she has held EU law, EU competition law and Business & Entrepreneurship lectureships in England and Singapore.
Marta’s research assistantships enabled her to work on domestic state aid cases across the EU, and on the EU Commission project: ‘Training for national judges in EU competition law’. In parallel, she was consulting for international law firms and NGOs on EU law, EU competition law and arbitration.
Subsequently, Marta joined DG COMP where she participated in developing digital cases. Currently, as a Harvard Summer Fellow in Legal Priorities Project, she explores models of economic regulation of Artificial Intelligence.
In addition to her native English and Polish, Marta has intermediate knowledge of German and Latin, and speaks basic French.
Marta is an avid cyclist and a Premier League fan.
