Maria da Graça Carvalho

Maria da Graça Carvalho is a Portuguese EPP MEP who sits on the Martens Centre’s Executive Board. She was first elected in 2009 until 2014, and then again in 2019. In the European Parliament, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Fisheries and sits on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality. She is also part of the Delegation for relations with the United States. She served as a Minister of Science and Higher Education of the XV Constitutional Government of Portugal and Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education of the XVI Constitutional Government. She is a Full Professor at University of Lisbon in the area of energy and sustainable development.
