Ioana Lung

Head of Communications and Marketing

Ioana Lung is Head of Communications and Marketing with the Martens Centre. Prior to that, she worked as Campaign Relations Manager in charge of European operations  for an American technology company that advises political parties and candidates on their digital strategy. In 2008, Ioana was an intern with the Security and Defence Subcommittee Secretariat in the European Parliament, where she was tasked with researching the links between security and development policies.

Ioana holds a postgraduate Research Master in Security Studies from the University of Wales, Aberystwtyh, where she was an Early Research Training Marie Curie fellow. Prior to that, she obtained a double diplomma BA in European and International Politics from the Nottingham Trent University, UK and Babes-Bolyai University, Romania.

Her areas of interest range from the EU’s foreign and security policy to social media, particularly its role in elections and campaigns. Ioana speaks English and French and has a passive knowledge of Spanish and Italian.
