Hendrik M. Vroom

Hendrik M. Vroom is the Coordinator of the Centre for Islamic Theology and professor emeritus in the philosophy of religion, VU University, Amsterdam. He has long been involved in Christian Democratic thought. He has coordinated research projects on Interreligious and Intercultural Encounter (published in the series Currents of Encounter, Rodopi, Amsterdam), and has published widely on hermeneutics, interreligious dialogue and ‘Religions in the Public Sphere’. He is Editor-in-Chief of ‘Interreligious Dialogue’. He also hold the Roche Chair for Interreligious Research from 2011 to 2012 at the Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture, Nagoya, Japan.
