Danuta Maria Hübner

Danuta Maria Hübner is currently serving as a Member of the European Parliament for the Civic Platform in the EPP Group. She chairs the Committee on Constitutional Affairs and served as a member of the Delegation for relations with the United States. Between 2004 and 2009, Mrs. Hübner was the European Commissioner for Regional policy. Between 2001 and 2004 she was, first as state secretary and later as minister for Europe in the Polish government, responsible for the accession negotiations between Poland and the EU. Mrs. Hübner holds a doctorate in economics. She worked as a professor in economics at Warsaw University and was a Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley. Mrs. Hübner is also active in the steering group of the Spinelli Committee, which strives for federalisation of the EU.
