Chelsea Nshuti

Chelsea Nshuti joined the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in September 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in International Politics from KU Leuven and studied European and International Law at the University of Galway. Her academic and professional work reflects a strong interest in European institutions, international cooperation and the history of Christian democracy.
She completed a nine-month traineeship in the European Parliament as Press Officer for Belgian MEP Wouter Beke. In 2024, she was the youngest candidate on the CD&V list during the European elections in Belgium, focusing her campaign on engaging young voters after the voting age was lowered to 16.
Deeply engaged in youth politics, she currently serves as International Secretary of JONGCD&V, working closely with young Christian Democrats across Europe. In 2023, her team won second place in the EPP Youth Week competition with a pitch on cybersecurity and its impact on young people. Since 2020, Chelsea has also been the youngest elected municipal councilor and CD&V group leader in Lummen, where she translates her Christian Democratic values into local leadership.
