Andreas Reinstaller

Andreas Reinstaller is Senior Principal Economist at the Austrian Productivity Board within the Oesterreichische Nationalbank. His research centers on technological and structural change, competitiveness, and more recently, energy economics. He studied economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and earned his PhD from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Prior to joining the Austrian Productivity Board, he spent 15 years as a senior economist at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). During this time, he served as editor-in-chief of the WIFO Monthly Reports, led a research consortium providing background studies for the European Competitiveness and Internal Market Reports of DG GROW, and oversaw several major projects supporting the European Commission in the realm of research and innovation policy. Earlier in his career, he was an assistant professor at the Institute for International Trade and Development at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. His scholarly work has appeared in leading journals including the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Research Policy, World Economy, Industrial and Corporate Change, and Scientometrics.
