Marek Gallo
Intern
Marek Gallo joined the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in March 2026. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Charles University and a Bachelor’s from Matej Bel University, where he led the Euroatlantic Center as President and managed the Visegrad Youth Forum to shape student policy outreach. His academic research focused on hybrid warfare, geopolitics, and military-strategic thought, culminating in a Master’s thesis conceptualising cognitive warfare.
Prior to joining the Martens Centre, Marek served as a researcher at Infosecurity.sk and the European Land Force Commanders Organisation, analysing international security and disinformation. He completed internships at Slovakia’s Permanent Representation to the EU, the National Council’s Defence and Security Committee, and the Embassy in Ljubljana. As part of his interest in diplomacy, he participated in leadership cohorts, including the Future European Leaders Forum (FELF) and Ivan Korčok School of Diplomacy.
Deeply committed to bolstering Europe’s defence posture amid geopolitical shifts, Marek is fluent in Slovak, English, and Czech, holds working proficiency in German, and is learning French and Hungarian.
