Pieter Habets works for the city of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where he currently is involved in transforming Amsterdam’s city centre in order to combat criminal activity. Pieter earned his master’s degree in engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology where he combined this study with sociology and economics. In 2004, the University of Costa Rica invited him to write a thesis on social rental housing in Costa Rica. During his studies, he was president of the Virus Foundation, where he organised a cultural festival for 10.000 students.
