Martin recently graduated from the University of Matej Bel in Slovakia with a MA in Law. He wrote his thesis on Comparisons of Types of Proceedings at the European Court of Justice and on Sovereignty of State Power in Terms of United Europe. As part of his studies, Martin studied in Slovenia as an exchange student at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana. After being selected as a beneficiary of a scholarship offered by the Fund for American Studies he attended the restigious summer school of the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems, accredited by Georgetown University and Charles University. His long evolving interest in politics drove him to run for a chairman position with ODM (Civic-democratic Youth), the biggest political youth organization in Slovakia. Under his chairmanship, the ODM organised, among other activities, state wide campaigns to raise the election turnout of young people in Slovakia. He holds the chairmanship position since 2012. Before joining the WMCES team, Martin worked for the EPP Group in the European Parliament, where he contributed to the work of the Press Service. In Slovakia, he worked as a paralegal and interned at the District Attorney Office. His areas of interest include political marketing and communication, the sharing economy and the adaptation of law to new technologies. Martin speaks Slovak, Czech, English, has passive knowledge of German and is currently learning French.
