Lorenzo Ornaghi, Professor of Political Science and of History of Political Thought, was Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore for ten years. He founded and directed the Graduate School of Economics and International Relations (ASERI), where he is now the President. From November 2011 through April 2013 he was Minster for Cultural Heritage and Activities. He is President of the Scientific Committee of Fondazione Alcide De Gasperi, Rome, and member of the Board of Cariparma. His most recent publication is "Nell'età della tarda democrazia. Scritti sullo Stato, le istitutioni e la politica" (Vita e Pensiero, 2013). The Pontificial University Giovanni Paolo II, Cracow, awarded him with the Laurea honoris causa in Philosophy in 2013.
