Barbara von Ow-Freytag is a journalist, political scientist and expert on Russian civil society. She is currently International Relations and Advocacy Advisor at the Prague Civil Society Centre. From 2008 to 2013 she was an advisor to Andreas Schockenhoff, MP, then the German government coordinator on inter-societal cooperation with Russia. She has also served as the Director of the Secretariat of the EU–Russia Civil Society Forum. In 2014 she headed the working group for cooperation with the Civil Society Forum of the Eastern Partnership. Since May 2017 she has been based in Brussels.
