Amelia Ni Laoi
Amelia graduated from Queens University Belfast with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology. During her time there, she also undertook an Insight into Management course as part of the Degree Plus programme. Amelia went on to obtain a Master of Laws at the National University of Ireland Galway in Peace Operations, Humanitarian Law and Conflict. While studying she worked for the marketing company ModernGreen+ which specialises in innovative and creative brand campaigns, with particular focus on social media platforms. As a native Irish speaker Amelia has an avid interest in the conservation of her national language. She and several other authors and illustrators collaborated with the local Irish government on the project Málaí Draíochta, which aimed to encourage children to engage with literature in the Irish language. Mostly recently Amelia has worked in the European Parliament for the Irish MEP Deirdre Clune, where she performed extensive research on EU legislative texts and assessed the legal basis of upcoming legislative proposals. She is bilingual in English and Irish and has a working proficiency in French. EU Foreign Policy and Economic and Social Affairs are her main areas of interest.
