European politicians continue debating what models of immigrant integration to adopt and how to ensure that all citizens feel loyalty to our democratic constitutions. How do we ensure societal cohesion within Europe’s diverse societies? How do we define the values of the European way of life that every immigrant must stick to? What is the place of group identity in a society which emphasises individual freedom?
These questions will be debated in the context of the publication of a new book, Unity in Adversity: Immigration, Minorities and Religion, prepared by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and its member foundations.
