Immigration is both a challenge and an opportunity for the European Union. In particular, for newer EU member states neighbouring countries outside the EU, such as Bulgaria, immigration and asylum policy are hugely important issues. The international conference "Migration challenges: the case of Bulgaria" will take place in Sofia on 15 December 2014. The event is organised by the Citizens Association for the European Development of Bulgaria (AGERB) in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies. The organisers are pleased to welcome a high-level panel of policy-makers, diplomats and experts to contribute their expertise to the conference.
