The second annual Economic Ideas Forum (EIF) took place in London on the 26th May and brought together EU officials, parliamentarians and senior British politicians, as well as high-level representatives of major corporations and stakeholders from across Europe and the US. This unique gathering of speakers and participants provided an ideal opportunity to present new ideas and offer economic solutions for overcoming the global financial crisis and improving the economy. The topics tackled ranged from economic cooperation across the Atlantic, the Digital Single Market, unemployment and how to create jobs. The event was organised in partnership with Business for New Europe and the Stockholm Network and featured, among others, former Prime Minister of Ireland John Bruton; Mark Hoban MP, Financial Secretary to the UK Treasury; Erkki Ormala, President of Digitaleurope; Eija-Riitta Korhola, MEP in the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee.
